Putnam's "Ocean Experience" - designed by Midwest Exhibit  - Scenic Art by sdh

Reviews are in:

"...The $140,000 ocean exhibit was designed by Midwest Exhibits in Davenport, and the walls were painted by Rock Island artist Susie Holgersson. The colorful atmosphere details life in the hydrosphere, with cutouts of a whale, shark and other creatures hanging from the ceiling, itself covered in sheer blue fabric. Sound and lighting effects complete the picture. ...."I personally think it's wonderful we have people here locally that are so gifted and talented, they can do this kind of immersive, quality work," Ms. Findlay said. "I can't be more satisfied or more impressed with what Susie has done. It's realistic; it puts you in the place. She designated all the different environments ... just beautifully."  Jonathan Turner Quad-Cities Dispatch*Argus

"....Once inside, elaborately painted walls offer vividly detailed underwater ocean views, thanks to the talents of Rock Island artist Susan Holgersson. She drew and painted the scenes freehand."  Kay Luna Quad-City Times

These are the basic preliminary designs for the murals that will surround the exhibit. Exhibit has opened December 4th, 2009.

"It is clearly a metaphysical speculation.  And like all metaphysical speculations has very little reference to the actual facts of life."
