"Altar Call" ....Susan Holgersson's set design is another awesome part of this ground breaking work.                                                                                                       Ruby Nancy - QCTimes

"Altar Call" ....Hiring an inspired senic designer was also a necessity.  "It was very important that I had the right set for the play," McBain says, "and I was lucky to get Susan Holgersson.  She is a fabulous set designer.  She looks for the essence of the play, and when I decided to set the play in Arizona, she really took off with that.  I love the Southwest palette she came up with.  She even painted the stained-glass window in the set; her father did the carpentry and she painted it.  So we've got a stained-glass window that my set designer made."

"An Infinite Ache" ....Susan Holgersson's imaginative scene design softens the central dark-wood bedroom set with more ethereal wispy white fabric that swags from the ceiling and set pieces.  This landscape presents fantastic opportuities for Michael McPeters' atmospheric lighting.

"Ten Little Indians" ....The first thing you notice about "Indians" is the fantastic set design by Susan Holgersson.  Ms Holgersson always represents herself well in her stating, but this set is particularly strong.  It's fully of vibrant contrast and luscious lines and curves, cleverly fitting the twisting dramatics of the play.  Too often, this artistry is overlooked by critics strapped for column inches (this one included), but when someone so obviously creates a space with such careful consideration of its inhabitants as well as the plot and mood of the show, you can't help but give them kudos.

"Christmas Story".... Set designer Susan holgersson also recreates Ralphie's world well, having put together a set that meets a number of specific script requirements and that looks good, too.  I especially like the small bedroom she created, and the simple picket fence is also prefectly done.
